Hair inspo: subtle ombré blonde

IMG_0187-0 I'd been looking forward to colouring my hair lighter for months so I was literally bouncing with excitement when hairdresser-day rolled around. Here's the results. I'm naturally a darkish-blonde, so this slight ombré colour is perfect for me. My stylist blended the light blonde in with my natural colour at the roots, which means almost no maintenance – hooray! The technique she used was quite interesting. Rather than freehand colouring (as you do with balayage) she achieved this look using foils and heavily backcombing the hair before painting on the colour. This created the subtle fade from my natural colour to the lighter blonde. I definitely recommend this style if you are natural blonde or a light brunette and want to go a light shade of blonde – it looks so natural and you get the bonus of no regrowth! Massive Kudos to Sandi at Imperial Crest in Brighton – if any Melbournians are looking for a great hairdresser, I can't recommend these guys enough. www.imperialcrest.com.au
